Monterey City Manager announces appointment of new assistant city manager

Monterey City Manager Hans Ulsar announced the appointment of the city’s new assistant city manager Thursday.

He appointed Nat Rojanasathira, who has more than 16 years of experience as a local government management executive, four of which were spent on the Monterey Peninsula. He has worked for both the city of Pacific Grove and the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Rojanasathira most recently worked in Danville in the East Bay as an administrative services director.

Ulsar said that, in his previous positions, Rojanasathira gained experience in managing human resources, information technology, finance, economic development, community engagement, special events, performance management and legislative advocacy. He has also worked with libraries, museums and parks.

Rojanasathira holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Monterey Bay and earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of San Francisco. He also graduated from the Local Governance Summer Institute at Stanford University.

“The city of Monterey is an iconic and vibrant city that values its history, culture and natural environment while delivering exceptional municipal services to the public,” Rojanasathira said. “It is an honor and privilege to return to the Monterey community and serve as its assistant city manager. I look forward to joining the city’s dynamic team as we work together to continue enhancing the quality of life for the community.”
