Drowsy driving too common an issue to ignore on Central Coast highways
The California Highway Patrol expects drivers to be alert year-round, but doing so requires drivers to stay awake on state roads.
Being drowsy while traveling on highways can leave commuters defenseless if they start falling asleep behind the wheel–which might lead to violent crashes.
CHP wants drivers to do what they can to stay awake during the drive, but get to the root of the issue by simply getting as much sleep as possible.
