WATCH: Midland County Sheriff’s deputy suffers minor injuries in train crash
New details have been released on today’s train crash involving a Midland County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
According to Sheriff Gary Painter, the deputy was responding to a call of an infant having breathing issues when the accident happened.
The deputy was alone in his vehicle at the time of the crash. He has been taken to the hospital with minor injuries including bruising throughout his body.
Emergency responders were able to reach the infant who has been taken to the emergency room.
DPS and the Railroad Commission will be investigating the crash.

A video shared to CBS7 shows a Midland County Sheriff’s Office vehicle being hit by a train just before noon on Tuesday.
The crash happened along Business 20 at South County Road 1250.
There is no word yet on injuries being reported from the crash.
A semi-truck was hit by a train at the same crossing on Monday.
