Multiple fires spark on Laureles Grade

Three small fires sparked off Laureles Grade, between Carmel Valley Road and Highway 68, late Monday afternoon.

The Monterey County Regional Fire District tells KION that they responded to two spot fires, and another that grew to about one half-acre in size. Five engines, a water tender, and a hand crew responded.

There were several other small fires on Highway 101 earlier in the day.
