UC Santa Cruz police asking for help finding suspect in campus burglaries

Police at UC Santa Cruz have arrested a man who had burglary tools, but now they are asking for the public’s help to find out if he is behind a string of campus burglaries.

On Thursday, officers found Jose Ramon Jacinto at Camper Park on Leonardo Lane. He was arrested on suspicion of probation violation, drug possession and possession of burglary tools. Two others were released.

Because there have been several vehicle and residential burglaries on campus and Jacinto had burglary tools, police are trying to find out if he is the one behind them. They want to know if anyone has seen him on campus in the areas where the crimes happened.
