Watsonville man hit and killed by truck identified

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has identified the man hit and killed by a pickup truck in Watsonville, Sunday, as Baudelio Perez.

Perez is a 75-year-old Watsonville resident. He died at the hospital after the crash.

The accident was near the intersection of West Beach Street and Rodriguez Street at about 11:21 a.m., according to the Watsonville Police Department.

The area was shut down for several hours.

WPD said on Sunday that the driver of the pickup truck is cooperating with authorities.
