One arrested and 25 cited at Hollister driver’s license checkpoint

Hollister police say one person was arrested and 25 were cited at a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Sunday. Another DUI arrest was made by patrol.

The checkpoint was on Fourth Street at Filice Drive from around 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Westbound traffic was screened for DUI and driving without a license.

Police say they did three sobriety tests, and those led to the two arrests. They arrested Manuel Lopez-Perez, 66, and Salud Martinez-Medina, 23.

25 other drivers were cited at the checkpoint for driving without a license, driving on a suspended licence or other vehicle violations.
