Scotts Valley police arrest man for having cash, drugs and ID’s in vehicle

A man is behind bars on several felony charges after being found with cash, drugs, cell phones and ID’s in a car.

Early Tuesday morning Scotts Valley police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle that was parked with the engine running in a neighborhood.

They found Anthony Michael Alvarez, 34, asleep at the wheel. They found out that he was on court probation and searched the vehicle.

Inside, they found $662 in cash, about 45 grams of crystal meth, 11 grams of heroin, drug paraphernalia, multiple cell phones and ID’s that did not belong to him.

Alvarez was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
