Three Aptos businesses burglarized early Tuesday morning

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two thieves involved in a string of early morning burglaries in Aptos.

Sid’s Smokehouse, California Coffee and Valero were all broken into between 3 and 5 a.m. on Tuesday.

The burglars broke into all of the businesses by breaking the locks on the door, or shattering the glass to the front door and targeted the ATMs and cash registers.

“All three businesses they targeted high valued items — the ATM, cash boxes, things that were of high value,” said Sgt. Dee Baldwin with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

They made off with a little less than $1,000 all together and did over $1,000 in damages.

All of the businesses have security footage they have shared with the Sheriff’s Office and are assisting with the investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office believes the suspect car is a light colored Nissan sedan with a model year between 1993 and 1997.

The suspects are facing felony commercial burglary charges.
