Seaside considers building Costco gas station

It’s likely you’ve noticed the recent surge in gas prices. That could make it an appropriate time for a Costco gas station to be built on the Peninsula.

According to AAA, California’s current average gas price is $4.02. That’s up nearly 50 cents from this time last year.

Costco gas stations are known for having lower-than-average prices, and one could soon be coming to Seaside near the Sand City Costco Wholesale. In the Seaside City Council meeting Thursday, the city will consider a resolution to build a Costco gas station on the Northeast corner of Del Monte Boulevard and Autocenter Parkway.

The Costco brand gas station would include 12 gas dispensers. The estimated building time would be five months.

Tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. KIONs Drew Andre has the reaction from local residents, and has more on how much lower prices could be at the Costco gas station.
