Police: Helicopter over Santa Cruz is for a film shoot

The Santa Cruz Police Department had to let the public know that a helicopter flying above the city, Sunday, was not a sign of any ongoing issue.

In a tweet and Facebook post, Santa Cruz PD wrote:

“What’s the buzz? If you saw or heard a helicopter over @ CityofSantaCruz today and wondered what’s happening, it’s a film crew. The helicopter is not related to any police action. Dispatch was flooded with phone calls to 911 about a suspicious helicopter.”
