39th annual Sea Otter Classic comes to a close

Another year of the Sea Otter Classic is in the books. This marked the 39th year that the event has taken place at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway.

Thousands of participants came from all over the world to race, but many live here on the central coast. “It does help being here in our backyard. I know the trails really well. You can see some people, who are from out of town, are a little more hesitant on them, but training hard makes all the difference,” said competitor, Bob Agan.

The event offered both professional and amateur races over the course of the weekend. Officials said nearly 70,000 spectators, vendors, and competitors showed up.

The classic is booked at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway until 2027.
