Salinas softball coach pleads guilty to child molestation

A Salinas softball coach is facing up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of child molestation.

In 2018, 20-year-old Madison Perez Nott of Watsonville coached an all-female softball team for minors. One of the players reported that when Nott met with her after practice or team-building events, they had sexually inappropriate contact. This lasted from September to November of 2018.

During an interview with Salinas police, Nott admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the underage player.

Her two charges were for commiting a lewd act on a child under the age of 14, and both are violent felonies considered “strikes” under California’s Three Strikes Law.

Nott is facing up to 10 years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for life. Her sentencing will be held on June 20.
