Watsonville police to roll out body cameras by summer
The Watsonville Police Department plans to roll out body-worn cameras this summer.
City council approved the $471,727 project Tuesday night after officers spent several months testing out different models.
The department plans to receive 75 cameras, equipment and software in a couple of months.
“We strive for transparency and we know that the new body cams will enhance those efforts,” police department spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said in a written statement.
