Police: Construction scammer is not Scottish fugitive

Lompoc police say they received “misinformation” and do not believe Kim Gordon was spotted in Buellton over the weekend.
Gordon is the Scottish man who is suspected of staging his disappearance to avoid criminal charges in Scotland.
Police say the man seen in Buellton has an Irish-like accent and has been identified as running a construction scam on the Central Coast.
Lompoc police say there is no credible evidence that Gordon is in the area.

Lompoc Police are warning people to be on the lookout for wanted fugitive possibly spotted in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Authorities say Kim Gordon faked his own death in Monterey County last month.
The Scottish man is wanted for rape and sexual assault.
A woman in Buellton told investigators Gordon came to her door Friday and offered to do asphalt work.
Police say Gordon was adamant the resident come out to his truck to get a business card. He was angry when she told him no and left.
The woman said Gordon returned Saturday and was upset when she again did not go along with him.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives have been contacted about the sighting.
Gordon is identified as a white man, 5 feet 11 inches tall, and 200 poundswith brown hair, blue eyes, and a Scottish accent. He was last seen driving a white Ford F-150 truck.
Anyone who thinks they see Gordon is asked to call 911.
