Movie filmed in Santa Cruz tops the weekend box office

The new Jordan Peele movie “Us” that filmed in the Santa Cruz area is the number one movie at the weekend box office.

It’s only the debut weekend, but the psychological thriller has already made $70 million, more than tripling the movie’s production budget of $20 million. Peele’s first film “Get Out” made $33 million its opening weekend.
