Man’s body found at New Brighton State Beach
The body of a 22-year-old man washed ashore at New Brighton State Beach and now investigators are trying to determine how he died.
The man was identified as Ricardo Picco. His body was found Tuesday morning.
According to Capitola police, Picco and his two friends were visiting the bluffs above New Brighton State Beach Monday night. Friends told investigators that Picco walked away from the group.
“It is believed, based upon the investigation at the scene and witness interviews, that the victim accidentally fell from the bluffs to the surface below,” said Capt. Andrew Dally.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
