Salinas house fire displaces resident and injures firefighter
The resident of a house on Reata Street in Salinas have been displaced after a fire.
The Salinas Fire department says it started early this morning in the house’s kitchen, but it then spread to the attic.
Fire crews and Salinas Police officers were able to rescue the homeowner as well as 7 dogs and 2 cats. One of the firefighters sustained minor injuries while rescuing one of the animals.
The American Red Cross is helping the homeowner and animals find somewhere to stay.
