Last “Spring Forward”…maybe
People are gearing up to “spring forward” for what may be the last time. “We hate it,” said Salinas resident, Aaron Franklin.
“I’m tired of the time changing and loosing that hour of sleep,” said Salinas resident, Tracy Martinez.
In the last election, California residents voted “yes” to Proposition 7. This gave lawmakers the right to do away with changing the clocks. The state could adopt a system only used in Hawaii and Arizona.
“I think that would be a plus, especially for people in my type of work environment. It disrupts the computers,” said Carmel resident, Kalila Bashaar.
It’s not a done deal, yet. Assembly Bill 7 will need a 2/3 vote by legislators before California can stay on the same time all year. If approved, the time clocks switch to in March would stick around.
Some said they aren’t convinced it will make a difference. “It doesn’t really affect us any way,” said Salinas resident, Alejandro Cervez.
“I didn’t ever really find it that difficult. You just get used to it. It’s one of those things that just happens,” said visitor, Jackie Truppelli.
The majority of Californians are still on board. 60% voted “yes,” in November, and hopes federal approval is next in line. “I hope it does happen because that would be great,” said Franklin.
