Police: Wanted gang member crashes into several parked cars following chase through Watsonville

A wanted man and alleged gang member was arrested following a car chase through Watsonville, where he crashed into several parked cars.

Loreto Arizpe, 33, was wanted in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Officers spotted Arizpe on Friday afternoon near Alta Vista but he sped off in a black SUV.

A car chase ensued through Watsonville up to Manresa State Beach.

Arizpe popped a tire and crashed into several parked cars.

According to Watsonville police, Arizpe got out of his SUV and ran from officers but was stopped by a K-9.

The suspect was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Watsonville Police Department believes Arizpe could be connected to armed robberies in Watsonville and across the county.
