One person injured in Salinas shooting

One person is in the hospital with “potentially life-threatening injuries” after a shooting in Salinas, Saturday night.

The Salinas Police Department says they responded to calls and a ShotSpotter activation at approximately 10 p.m., on the 100 block of Gardenia Drive. They learned a 31-year-old was driven to a local hospital. The victim was shot multiple times.

Detectives were on scene through the early morning. They are investigating the shooting as an attempted murder.
