Colorado juveniles arrested for King City burglaries
Two juveniles from Colorado were arrested Wednesday in connection with two burglaries in King City.
The King City Police Department responded to businesses on the 600 block of Canal Street and the 700 block of South First Street, both of them telling officers they were broken in to overnight. The Canal Street business says the suspects stole their cash register, with that loss combined with damages totaling an estimated $1,250. The First Street business says the suspect stole electronics – an estimated $1,800 in losses and damage.
Evidence at the two scenes linked the crimes together, King City Police wrote in a release, Wednesday night.
The Salinas Police Department contacted the 16-year old suspect, from Aurora, CO, and the 13-year-old suspect, from Commerce City, CO, in a stolen vehicle out of Colorado. Evidence in the vehicles reportedly connected them with the King City incidents, and King City PD reports that video evidence from the crime scenes and the King City Camera system helped identify the suspects.
They were booked into Monterey County Juvenile Hall and are facing two counts of commerical burglary.
