Power outages in Pebble Beach

Falling trees and power lines have PG&E spread thin and many neighborhoods are left waiting, wondering how long they could be without power.

One of those neighborhoods is in Pebble Beach where 9 homes on Congress Road are left in the dark.

At about 10:00 a.m. Wednesday the street lost power after a tree fell on a power line. A homeowner called PG&E right away but it took almost six hours before anyone arrived.

“I reported it to pg&e immediately, which is basically on speed dial and then have been waiting it out ever since,” Kouslaa Kessler-Mata said.

“At that point there was nothing blocking the road, people were still walking over it, walking their kids home from school. It was actually quite dangerous.”

Thursday night PG&E crews are blocking the street off, but still no work has been done.

“Last time we were out for two days when there was just one power line down, now there’s five so I’m thinking it’ll be at least a week, maybe two before we’re back up,” Charles Delahay said.

The Delahay’s have managed to stay warm enough with their fireplace, but they’re coming up with other alternatives.

“I know its going to be a while so we’re actually making plans to go stay somewhere else,” Delahay said.

In the January storms the street lost power for a few days, but this storm seems to have done even more damage.
