Monterey Peninsula College cancels classes due to extreme weather

Monterey Peninsula College closed its campus due to extreme weather.

MPC officials said power outages, high winds and downed trees posed safety concerns for employees, students and campus visitors.

The school has canceled all classes and campus events on the Monterey campus for the remainder of the day, Wednesday.

The Education Center at Marina and the Seaside Public Safety Training Center still have power and will remain open for afternoon and evening classes.
