Deputies search for suspect near Soquel Creek

A suspect wanted for an arrest warrant ran from deputies and reportedly jumped into the Soquel Creek Friday morning.

The incident caused the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office to place Soquel Elementary on a temporary lockdown. The school’s lockdown has since been lifted.

The suspect was identified as 61-year-old Phillip Lee Adams of Santa Cruz.

The Sheriff’s Office said Adams broke through their perimeter and was last seen on Soquel Drive. The search for the suspect has been called off.
