CHP: Controlled burn out of control near Chualar
A controlled burn was out of control in south Monterey County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vegetation fire was reported four miles up Chualar Canyon Road near Old Stage Road around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire was estimated to be around 3 to 5 acres. No structures were threatened.
Firefighters expect to have full containment on the fire by 4:30 p.m.
