Armed gang member arrested following fight near Hollister bar

An armed gang member was arrested following a fight outside a bar in Hollister.

According to police, the fight took place at the Hollister House Bar and Grill at 500 San Benito Street around 10:46 p.m. on Jan. 26.

As one officer arrived he saw three men running from the area. The officer caught the men in the 600 block of San Benito Street and investigated their involvement.

“As Officer Umstead questioned them regarding their possible involvement in the fight he recognized one of the suspects he was speaking with as being the same person he recently arrested for possession of a firearm,” said Sgt. Don Pershall.

The officer discovered one of the suspects he detained had another loaded handgun on him. The gun didn’t have a serial number on it.

20-year-old Cesar Gomez was arrested and booked into the San Benito County Jail.
