Task Force arrests nine, seizes gun and drugs

When members of the Salinas Violence Suppression Task Force showed up for a probation compliance check Tuesday, people inside a home in the 500 block of Victor Street took off running.

Patrol officers, US Marshalls and ATF agents eventually detained twelve people.

Police say the found a stolen Ruger 9mm handgun and nine gams of methamphetamine, and arrested nine people on charges ranging from warrants to possession of a firearm.

Earlier Tuesday, the task force arrested another person on warrants, following a traffic stop in Salinas.
