Pacific Grove police warn of rental scams surrounding U.S. Open

Many beautiful homes will be put up for rent the week of this years biggest event on the Central Coast: The U.S. Open Championship.

Months in advance, Pacific Grove Police Department is warning their residents to not be the “bait in a rental scam.”

Police say online scammers will search for photos of homes on real estate sites like VRBO or Air BNB, and then use those photos to create their own rental listing.
