Homeless man found dead in Santa Cruz encampment

A homeless man was found dead at an encampment in Santa Cruz.

According to police, the 68-year-old was found in a tent at a site off River Street. Police said they got the call around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 22nd.

The Fire Department and Coroner’s Office responded along with police.

Police said there doesn’t appear to be any obvious signs of foul play, but the coroner still has to determine a cause of death.
