Paradise lights town Christmas tree after devastating Camp Fire
After the Camp Fire devastated Paradise, California, and the surrounding community, the town of Paradise in collaboration with Paradise Recreation and Park District are celebrating the holidays with a fun night filled of ice skating, tree lighting and treats.
Paradise held a Christmas tree lighting and ice skating event on Saturday, December 22nd.
The city has run the rink at Terry Ashe Park every year since 2012, and this year, despite the devastating fire, will be no different.
A local nursery donated the Christmas tree to the rink. The tree was the only thing that survived when the nursery burned down in the fire.
The fire was the deadliest and most destructive in California history, burning more than 153-thousand acres in Butte County, and killing at least 86 people.
