Volcano erupts twice in Mexico

Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano erupted on Saturday (12/15) evening giving off a spectacular flash of light followed by dazzling incandescent material spilling out from the crater and down the mountainside.

The eruption took place on Saturday evening (12/16) and sent a 6,500 feet high column of ash and smoke into the air.

On Sunday morning (12/16), the volcano registered a second explosion, spewing an ash and smoke column that rose 8,000 feet high.
