State Parks lifeguard saves swimmer at Carmel Beach

A beach goer was swept out to sea in Carmel Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at Carmel Beach.

Carmel by the Sea Police Officers Association said several agencies responded to the swimmer in distress including, Monterey fire and police, Cal Fire, the Coast Guard, and State Parks.

A Coast Guard vessel and helicopter were used to locate and rescue the swimmer.

“The State Parks Life Guard honed in on the swimmer’s location and assisted them in the water until the Coast Guard boat could pick them up.”

The swimmer was ok and did not suffer any injuries.
