Select USPS locations open during weekend before Christmas

USPS is putting in some extra hours on Central Coast, this holiday season.

Select USPS locations in Monterey, Salinas, Watsonville, and Santa Cruz were open this weekend, and will be the next.

USPS said they hope the extra day open will relieve a little bit of that holiday stress.

“I’m trying to avoid the stress this year. I’m playing it very low key. Trying to safe money. Avoiding crowds, like today,” said Raymond Chudy, a USPS customer in Monterey.

USPS said they deliver nearly 3 billion pieces of mail the week before Christmas. This includes 200 million packages.

The following Central Coast locations will be open from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, December 22nd:

225 Main St., Watsonville, CA 95076

1146 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz, CA 95062

1011 Post Drive, Salinas, CA 93907

The following location will be open from 10:30am to 4pm on Sunday, December 23rd
