Missing Capitola man found safe

UPDATE: 12/17/2018 1:50 p.m. A missing at-risk Capitola man has been found.

74-year-old Martin Fox was located in the creek bed next to Coffee Lane Park on Monday.

Fox had been missing for almost two days. He was last seen leaving his home near Clares Street and Seven Gables Way Sunday morning.

Fox was treated at a local hospital for exposure.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office says Martin Fox is still missing.

The Search and Rescue Team has been deployed to help with the search.

The 74-year-old was last seen leaving his home near Clares Street and Seven Gables Way Sunday morning. He may go to the Capitola Mall or the Starbucks at Clares Street and 40th Avenue.

The CHP has issued a Silver Alert.

74-year-old Martin Fox was last seen leaving his house near Clares Street and Seven Gables Way at about 4:30 a.m.

Capitola Police and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office say he may have gone to the Capitola Mall or the shopping center at Soquel Drive and 41st Ave.

Fox is considered at-risk because of health issues. He’s 5’7″ and around 163 lbs, but officials do not know what he was wearing. They think he walked.
