Helicopter rescues injured skier south of Lake Tahoe

California sheriff’s deputies and a helicopter helped rescue an injured skier in a remote mountain area south of Lake Tahoe over the weekend.

El Dorado County deputies requested a helicopter from the California Highway Patrol after the unidentified skier fell more than 200 feet down some rocks along the north side of Mount Tallac (tuh-LACK’) near Fallen Leaf Lake on Sunday.

The H-20 helicopter flew him to the Taylor Creek Snow Park where he was then transported by an air ambulance to a Reno hospital where his condition was not immediately known.
