“Christmas on Main Street” is back for it’s 5th annual holiday spectacular

Christmas on Main Street came back to Salinas, this year, for it’s 5th annual holiday spectacular.

Compass Church puts on the show, every year. This year, they brought in a few famous performers. Whitney Wood from the X-Factor and Ryan Scripps from The Voice, came to Monterey County just for the event.

Host and Salinas City Councilman, Steve McShane, said it is the largest Christmas production on the Central Coast.

“A lot of folks have come to see the talent from both the X-Factor and The Voice. Both Ryan and Whitney Wood. There’s tremendous excitement and fans that show up, every year, to see who’s going to be here on the big stage. For a little city like Salinas, it’s pretty awesome,” said McShane.

Compass Church has been preparing for the show since back in July. More than 300 volunteers helped with props, costumes, ticket sales, songs, and everything in between. They estimate nearly 5,000 people came to the 6 shows, over the weekend.

McShane said the church plans to continue to grow the show for years to come.
