DUI driver crashes into power pole in Corralitos
A Watsonville man was driving under the influence when he crashed into a power pole causing power lines to cross the roadway.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. Wednesday on Corralitos Road north of Freedom Blvd.
The California Highway Patrol identified the driver as 21-year-old Cristian Rodriguez. CHP said Rodriguez lost control of his 1999 Nissan Quest and sheared the pole.
Rodriguez suffered minor injuries and was arrested for suspicion of DUI and driving unlicensed.
Corralitos Rd will be closed by PG&E for pole and power line repairs and won’t be reopen until about 3 p.m.
