Latest in E-Bike technology comes to Monterey
40 new electric bikes have made their way to the Monterey Peninsula, getting people outside and active, in style.
“These are the Mercedes Benz or Lexus, if you will, of electric bikes,” said Gabe Howard, manager of Adventures by the Sea.
Adventures by the Sea, in Monterey, just received the GenZe bikes, one of the newest E-Bikes on the market.
Customers, David and Therese Kent, said they’ve always enjoyed staying active, and these new and improved, faster, E-Bikes make exploring our scenic backyard a bit easier. “People of our age, a tender age, will more appreciate the E-Bike than the regular bikes, especially, at our fitness level,” said David.
Adventures by the Sea has offered E-Bikes before, but say adding the GenZes to their fleet is a big upgrade. “These bikes are really durable so they’re perfect for what were doing. They’re really reliable. They have a great range on the battery too so people can go down to pebble beach and back, no problem,” said Howard.
With views like the ones on the Monterey Peninsula, going the distance without the strain, is a feature that wins first time riders over. “I used to ride a real bike around that 17 mile drive. The circle is about 23 miles, but doing that on E-Bike would make it a lot easier,” said David.
The store said despite only being here for a month, the new bikes have blown past their other active offers, like kayaking, cycling, and paddle-boarding. “Once they’re on that bike going down the coast and everything. There’s no better feeling than that,” said Howard.
