Three farm workers killed in Hwy 101 crash in King City
A van carrying several farm workers was t-boned on Highway 101 in King City, killing three passengers.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2003 Chevy farm labor van attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Highway 101 and collided with a Dodge Journey.
The fatal crash happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday.
“The front of the Dodge Journey collided with the right passenger side of the Chevy,” CHP said.
CHP, multiple AMR personnel and Cal-Fire responded to the scene.
The driver of the Dodge suffered major injuries to her chest, ribs, and leg. The survivors in the van sustained moderate to major injuries.
One southbound lane was closed for several hours while officers investigated the crash.
The identities of the victims are not being released at this time.
It’s unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.
