Veteran’s Day celebrated with annual parade in Salinas

25,000 people showed up to support our veterans, this afternoon, at the 8th Annual Salinas Veteran’s Day Parade.

The streets of Old Town were decked in red, white, and blue for the patriotic event.

Performances from several local high school marching bands wow-ed residents that lined Main Street to watch.

Many elected officials also made an appearance. Salinas city council members, Supervisor Luis Alejo, Congressman Jimmy Panetta, and others came out to participate in the parade. Congressman Jimmy Panetta also spoke in the opening ceremony.

Residents were entertained with more than a parade at Sunday’s event. The U.S. Army Gold Knight made a grand entrance. The group of 6 parachuted down from an airplane and landed on Salinas High’s football field.
