Vandals cause thousands of dollars in damages to Watsonville skate park, write apology letter
Two vandals arrested for causing thousands of dollars in damages to a skate park in Watsonville decided to write an apology letter for their actions.
The incident took place at Ramsay Skate Park Wednesday afternoon.
Watsonville police officers were patrolling the area when they caught 19-year-old Victor Valladares spray-painting one of the skate ramps.
“While dealing with Valladares, officers found the second suspect, 18-year-old Diego Cahue, with paint on his hands, shoes, and clothing. We believe both are responsible for the majority of the tagging on the skate bowl,” said WPD.
Before the two suspected vandals were taken to jail, the men wrote apology letters to the city and its residents.
The city said it’ll cost thousands of dollars to fix the damages.
The skate park will be closed while repairs are made.
