Masked man robs Watsonville store while carrying balloons

Watsonville Police are searching for a masked suspect who robbed a cell phone store while carrying several balloons.

According to Watsonville Police, it happened on Friday, November 2nd at a store on the 300 block of East Lake Avenue.

Police said the robber stormed in and demanded the employee open the register.

He then left behind his gun and calmly walked out of the store still carrying the balloons. Police said the gun turned out to be a toy gun.

The suspect then left with a silver mountain bike and walked toward Madison Street from East Lake.

The store’s employee was not hurt.

The man was wearing a blue hooded jacket with the word “Security” on the back.
