Armed motorcyclist crashes during high speed chase in Royal Oaks

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after crashing during a high speed chase with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened the night of Nov. 4.

Deputies attempted to stop the rider, Jesus Alvarez for speeding through Royal Oaks.

The sheriff’s office said Alvarez tried to go even faster but crashed a minute later.

Deputies found a loaded concealed handgun in Alvarez’s jacket pocket and drugs.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said Alvarez is a convicted felon with gang affiliations. Multiple felony charges are pending Alvarez’s release from the hospital.
