Hollister police arrest suspect in multiple theft cases
A man accused of numerous burglaries across San Benito County is behind bars.
According to the Hollister Police Department, 36-year-old Carlos Sanchez is responsible for numerous vehicle burglaries and thefts in different neighborhoods throughout the city.
Sanchez was recently identified as a suspect in a case involving stolen electronics. HPD said he also used a stolen credit card at a local retail store.
On Nov. 1 police went to the suspect’s home on Nolte Alley and Sanchez took off running.
Officers were able to set up a perimeter to contain Sanchez to the area. He returned home to hide but was arrested.
Sanchez was booked in the San Benito County Jail on charges related to theft, stolen property possession, use of an access card, and other various charges. His bail is set at $125,000.
Officers are continuing to follow up on other cases to see if there is a connection tying Sanchez to those crimes.
