Hollister father and son arrested for DUI and gas leak
What started as an arrest for maintaining a nuisance and failing to sign a citation became a DUI accident and gas leak arrest.
Hollister Police got a report on October 22 of a restraining order violation at the 300 block of Paul Drive. Police had been called there several times within a week for the same reason.
Francisco Zendejas had a long history of disturbing neighbors there and could not be within 100 yards of his neighbor’s house.
Francisco’s father, Samuel Zendejas, had been there earlier. Police tried to issue him a citation for letting the violation happen, but he tried to get away and go home.
Samuel Zendejas resisted officers and was arrested.
Later, Fransisco Zendejas went to the jail’s gates and yelled at officers booking his father. When police opened the gates, he sped away in a nearby truck.
He went south on the jail road, but missed a turn at Flynn Road and hit both a natural gas and water line. The road was shut down for 4 hours while the leaks were repaired.
During his arrest, Fransisco Zendejas spat at and tried to bite officers and paramedics.
Samuel Zendejas was booked on charges of maintaining a public nuisance and obstruction.
Francisco Zendejas was cited for battery of an EMT, DUI, obstructing an officer and driving on a suspended license.
