How to spend Mega Millions earnings

Six lucky numbers to change your life forever. The Mega Millions jackpot is now at one billion dollars, the highest it has ever been.

It’s hard to wrap your head around that much money. Basically, you would have to spend a $100,000 every day for 25 years to run out. “Too much money for one person, but you can do a lot with it, ” says Debbie, visiting Monterey from St. Louis.

That’s what the majority of people say when asked their thoughts on the jackpot hitting one billion dollars. Brian Wood is visiting Monterey from Chicago. He says, “A billion dollars.. Yeah it’s an incomprehensible amount of money. I’m not even sure how to really visualize it.”

But let’s pretend you did win. Most people would first get a house or a new car. If getting behind to wheel of your dream car is the first thing you plan on doing, you’ve got plenty of options.

Steve Kittrell with Mohr Imports says, “This is one of the most expensive cars we have here is this 1974 Porsche Carrera.”‘

With an asking price of $245,000, not a bad choice to use your Mega Millions earnings on.

How about a 427 Shelby Cobra? “It’s a great car, it’s turn key. It’s got the big motor. It’s got the side pipes. It’s got the sights and the sounds and the feel. And everything you could want out of a shelby cobra,” says Kittrell.

With one million, you could buy all three cars in the showroom. Now for a place to park it. KION checked out a house in Pebble Beach worth 37 million dollars. If 9 beds and 18 baths isn’t enough, how about an amazing view over the Monterey Bay.

You could buy the house, the cars, and still have money for a private jet, a big boat and much more… even after Uncle Sams lottery cut, depending what state you’re in.

Hey…We can all dream, right?
