Seaside to move forward with school resource officers
The Seaside City Council approved an effort to move forward with school resource officers.
On Thursday October 18th, council members voted unanimously to approve a memorandum of understanding between the police department and the city for SROs.
This comes after the Seaside Police Chief presented the results from four community meetings over these school resource officers during Thursday night’s meeting.
During the presentation, the chief told the council if approved, they would make sure to clarify the role of the SROs and permit them to wear relaxed uniforms as well as concentrate on a diversion focus among other things.
In September, there were mixed reactions about school resource officers.
