13 men cited in Salinas prostitution sting
13 men were cited during a prostitution sting in Salinas, Friday.
The Salinas Police Department says the Violence Suppression Unit, Patrol, Homeland Security, and the U.S. Marshals conducted the operation around Kern Street.
SPD says that people were calling to report increased traffic, debris, and prostitutes, in their neighborhood. The operation, according to Salinas Police, was done to stop these problems, and also help potential victims of human trafficking.
VSU used decoys during the operation.
The 13 men were cited for soliciting prostitution from the decoys. They have been released.
