Santa Cruz County dispatcher guides family through delivery of their son

9-1-1 operators can have a very tough job. They get a call and most of the time never end up knowing the outcome.

Well that was not the case for a dispatcher in Santa Cruz who guided a family through the birth of their son over the phone.

Valerie Conner met the family and welcomed baby Nolan in person yesterday.

Santa Cruz Regional 9-1-1 posted to Facebook saying Valerie continued to be the caring compassionate person she is.

During the meet up, she told the mom and dad how well they did which she also said throughout the entire delivery.

Valerie has been doing the job for more than 30 years and Nolan is her first delivery.
